Today's Youth, Tomorrow's Leaders: Announcing the 2024 EmpowerLA Youth Conference
The Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (DONE) is proud to announce applications for the 2024 EmpowerLA Youth Conference are now open!
On Saturday January 27, 2024, DONE will host 50 young people from across Los Angeles to participate in a one-day event focused on civic engagement, local leadership, and community engagement. Participants will learn about the history and purpose of the Neighborhood Council system, explore the policies and procedures that govern Neighborhood Councils, and gain valuable leadership and community engagement skills.

We need your help to spread the word to young people in your Neighborhood Council! This opportunity is great for current and prospective youth representatives, with acceptance preference given to youth already engaged in their Neighborhood Council. However, any interested Angeleno ages 14-17 are encouraged to apply!
Applications are due Monday December 18th at 11:59pm. We have developed an outreach toolkit to make it easy for you to share this opportunity on your Neighborhood Council's social media, website, and/or newsletter. The toolkit will be continuously updated between now and the application deadline with new graphics and translated materials, so check back often!

WELLNESS--You may be familiar with the term “Sound Bath” as it has become more and more popular, especially within the spiritual, yoga, and meditation communities. Although it has nothing to do with getting wet, many would liken it to being cleansed from the inside out.
