WESTSIDE - Bass, Park could become unlikely allies in fighting homelessness, rising crime and the quality-of-life issues that plague both Angelenos and Venetians alike!

TREE PLANTING - On Oct. 14, 2022, at a regular Board of Public Works meeting, agenda item #3 provided a cornucopia of urban forestry information, the likes of which have never been disclosed to the public.

THE EASTSIDER - Now that the elections are over, most of the City Council is attempting to continue the system of running LA City just as it has been run in the past -

ELECTION ANALYSIS - The road to democracy was long and winding in 2022, with much shock and surprise as LA will have its first female mayor in Karen Bass and Venice will be directly represented by Councilmember-elect Traci Park here in CD-11.

CD15 - The council race in District 15 has not been this contested in decades and is the most expensive race ever run here,

GUEST COMMENTARY - Until the 2020 Presidential election, Americans took it for granted that the losing side in a political race would be gracious and respectful to the winning side.

GUEST COMMENTARY - For good reasons, the spotlights of media have been shining brightly on the fate of our electoral democracy; undoubtedly this intense focus will continue long after the midterm elections. 

THE DOCTOR IS IN - At this time, it does appear that our next CD11 Councilmember will be Traci Park, and that the Westside west of the 405 freeway hasn't completely lost its collective mind with respect to urban planning, transportation, and fixing our homelessness crisis.

LA DRUG CRISIS - A June 28, 2022 Motion by LA County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis outlines something called the “Skid Row Action Plan: Improving the Lives of Residents on Skid Row by Addressing Homelessness Stemming from Decades of Institutional Racism”.
