GELFAND’S WORLD - My opening story is from southern Kentucky and is from a couple of years ago.
GELFAND’S WORLD - Get The Picture? It's the defining moment of the Trump era.
GELFAND’S WORLD - A hint or a clue: We will know that Donald Trump is seriously concerned over the top secret documents he kept in Mar a Lago if Republicans in the congress suddenly start talking about closing down the prison facility at Guantanamo Bay.
GELFAND’S WORLD - Many people have said that Donald Trump is merely the symptom of an underlying malady, that the problems were there when he decided to take advantage of them and will continue to exist if he retires or is otherwise rendered incapable of running for reelection.
GELFAND’S WORLD - It is my considered opinion that the City of Los Angeles is about to open itself to a libel action based on the conduct of the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment.
GELFAND’S WORLD - We've been discussing the rude way that the City of Los Angeles has been mistreating its neighborhood councils.
GELFAND’S WORLD - Back in the 1990s, I listened to Rush Limbaugh once in a while. One morning, he had Dixie Lee Ray on his show.
GELFAND’S WORLD - In the congress, Republicans have violated taboos, traditions, and principles in order to prevent the Democrats from achieving legislative success, and out of all their skullduggery, we have the current Supreme Court.
GELFAND’S WORLD - One side says that the presidential election was stolen. Another side says that it was not.
GELFAND’S WORLD - Theoreticians and sociologists have figured out that some changes don't build up gradually, but hit all at once, hence the term "tipping point."
GELFAND’S WORLD - A dying father shielded his son from bullets, while politicians defended the right of the killer to buy them.
GELFAND’S WORLD - Donald Trump did not preserve and defend the Constitution. He purposely endangered not only the public, but the Constitution itself.
GELFAND’S WORLD - Let's begin with this question: Is it even a bad thing that the Supreme Court has lost the respect of the American people?
GELFAND’S WORLD - Let's start on a tangent, the invention of ice cream. I don't know exactly who first figured out how to mix cream and sugar and ground ice, but at some point there was ice cream.
GELFAND’S WORLD - Let's suppose that you live in a normal residential neighborhood, and all of a sudden, a government agency announces that it is going to build an outdoor amphitheater to do Rock N' Roll concerts.
GELFAND’S WORLD - We've all seen the network footage of the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol building.
GELFAND’S WORLD - People come with all kinds of personalities and temperaments. Some manage to maintain self control, even while losing their temper.
GELFAND’S WORLD - There is a question that should be asked of all those candidates for mayor and for the City Council. It goes like this:
GELFAND’S WORLD - The Republican approach to mass shootings is to turn the United States into an airport -- more armed guards and locked doors and metal detectors.
GELFAND’S WORLD - Think of it. In each big city newsroom, there is now a reporter whose beat is the mass murder of children.
GELAND’S WORLD - Is there a point at which a political candidate can do so much advertising that it becomes overkill?
