Free Holiday Pageant ‘La Virgen de Guadalupe’ Returns December 3–5

Friday, Nov 06

Latino Theater Company brings its annual holiday pageant, La Virgen de Guadalupe, Dios Inantzin, to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels for three performances December 3–5. A third performance has been added this year due to high ticket demand.

Featuring more than 100 actors, singers, musicians and indigenous Aztec dancers, along with children and seniors from the community, the production tells the story of Juan Diego and the Virgin Mary’s appearances near Mexico City in 1531. Adapted by Evelina Fernández from The Nican Mopohua and directed by José Luis Valenzuela, the pageant is performed in Spanish with English supertitles. The production is presented by El Gallo Giro and produced by Latino Theater Company in association with the cathedral.
