Honoring L.A. Journalism Legend Steven Mikulan - RSVP

There are editors, and then there is Steven Mikulan. Capital & Main's beloved founding editor-in-chief, who retired last May, is the quintessential L.A. journalist, with a career as sprawling as the metropolis he has covered. In nearly a decade at the helm of Capital & Main's newsroom, Steven did the impossible, building a team from the ground up and establishing both an editorial voice and a track record of powerful reporting on the most important issues shaping life in California and beyond.

Long before he took the reins at Capital & Main, Steven made his mark at the LA Weekly as that once-storied publication's redoubtable theater editor. In later years he wrote riveting pieces for LA Magazine on everything from celebrity rehab host Dr. Drew to mobster Whitey Bulger to B grade film star Yvette Vickers.

The throughline in this prolific output is excellence, along with a healthy dose of wit and a community of peers who revere him.

We are thrilled to be honoring Steven at this year's Exposés and hope you will join us on Apr. 21 as we celebrate his exemplary career.
