Members of the media are invited to the City of Los Angeles Personnel Department to witness the first step in the recruitment and application journey for the city’s future police officers

WHAT:

On Saturday, July 15th the City’s Personnel Department will provide Angelenos the opportunities to learn about various police and civilian jobs available with the Los Angeles Police Department. The Hiring Expo provides interested candidate with officer panels, on-site testing and information booths where they can learn about open positions with a salary range of $60,907 to $93,793.

Today, Los Angeles is one of the most ethnically and geographically diverse cities in the country. Its residents speak 224 languages and live in diverse communities. LAPD Officers are sworn to protect and to serve more than 4 million Angelenos within a sprawling 465 square mile jurisdiction. In order to effectively meet the needs of all of the city's residents, LAPD Officers work out of 18 divisions. They patrol in cars, boats, helicopters, bikes, horseback and on foot.

To learn more about the employment opportunities and the application process members of the media are invited to the City of Los Angeles Personnel Department to witness the first step hopeful applicants must complete to start the process to become a police officer.
