WHO: Dan Goldenberg, highly regarded national advocate for veterans and executive director of the Call of Duty Endowment will be the keynote speaker. Goldenberg currently serves as a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
Goldenberg will provide insights into the state of veteran employment in L.A. and in the United States. The Call of Duty Endowment is a leading funder of veteran-focused organizations nationwide, establishing best practices, promoting military hiring, and supporting organizations like JVS that are helping veterans transition into civilian careers. Universal Protection Service, one of the largest providers of security services in North America, will be honored with the JVS Corporate Partnership Award in recognition of their efforts to help JVS put veterans and other job seekers back to work.
JVS will present its Inspiration Award to three JVS clients whose successes illustrate the mission of the agency to help lift people out of poverty and over significant barriers to employment. A formerly homeless veteran, a survivor of domestic violence and a youth who was both out of school and out of work tell their stories in a compelling video.
WHY: One of the city’s premiere networking events, JVS Strictly Business highlights the life-changing work of JVS as hundreds of successful business owners, professionals, entrepreneurs and philanthropists gather to support a luncheon with a purpose.
BIO ON DAN GOLDENBERG
Dan Goldenberg is the Executive Director of the Call of Duty Endowment, which provides grants to the best non-profits in the country that are getting unemployed veterans high-quality jobs. He also is a commander in the Navy Reserve and was active duty in the military for 23 years. Highlights of Goldenberg’s military career include tours as a commanding officer, a carrier-based naval flight officer, and special assistant to the Secretary of the Navy. He also has over a decade of business experience, most recently serving as Sr. Vice President of Growth Partnership Services at Frost & Sullivan, a global research and management consulting firm. Prior to that, he was a senior director and practice manager at CEB. Goldenberg is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Harvard Business School, and the Air Command and Staff College. His strong personal connection to veterans and first-hand understanding of the impact they can have in the civilian workforce drive the Endowment’s efforts to place veterans into high quality jobs.
