Editor’s Memo: (Not My) President’s Day

CITYWATCH TODAY—Credit where credit is due. President Donald J. Trump has done what Hillary failed to do. What the Democratic Party leadership failed to do. What fellow Republican candidates failed to do. He energized the competition. Happy (Not My) President’s Day!

Tens of thousands of protestors clogged intersections across the country today (President’s Day) to disown The Donald and spotlight their causes.

Liberals, progressives, independents, media … even a few Republicans … are newly engaged in the process. In many cases, folks that couldn’t find their way to a polling booth just a few short months ago.

The fact that these energized folks are also organizing and strategizing would seem to indicate that the engagement has some staying power.

Bob Gelfand considers one of those organization efforts … ‘Indivisible’ … in Today’s CityWatch column. The words ‘Trump’ and ‘treason’ are being connected and the LA Indivisible movement would appear to have legs.

Activists are engaged in the Miracle Mile ‘hood. The Miracle Mile HPOZ proposal looked like a slam dunk a few months ago. The opposition got organized and the outcome is now looking iffy. Tim Deegan paints the engagement picture for us … in Today’s CityWatch.

Check it out. Get engaged. Let us know what you think. That’s what CityWatch is here for.
