Editor’s Memo: The 90’s … an Exuberant Interlude

CITYWATCH TODAY—California gets its turn in the primary election sun soon. As some Angelinos contemplate sending the Clintons back to the White House, it seems like an appropriate time to recalibrate the naughty 90’s … the decade that featured the first Clinton era.

Columnist Andres Martinez calls the 90’s decade an ‘exuberant interlude between the Cold War and September 11.’ A pivotal decade, Andres says.

In addition...

to Bill and Monica, there was OJ and Seinfeld. Twin Peaks and X-Files. And welfare reform, financial deregulation and an exit that generated the Y2K bug scare. How appropriate.

Andres breaks it all down for us and offers his own perspective on what it all means … in Today’s CityWatch. A must read.

In the ‘Lead Slide Show’ this issue: Another citizen group goes to court because they can’t get anyone’s attention, another tax attack on our wallets … this time at the County level … and activist Daniel Guss calls the ‘no kill’ numbers ‘LA’s Big Lie.’

And more … in Today’s CityWatch. Check it out. Let me know what you think.
