The Mutti Gras Pet Parade and Costume Contest Makes its Grand Return to The Original Farmers Market’s 33rd Annual Mardi Gras Celebration
WHAT:
The beloved Mutti Gras Pet Parade and Costume Contest is set to make its grand return to The Original Farmers Market’s 33rd annual Mardi Gras celebration.
Stop by 3rd and Fairfax the weekend of February 18thto celebrate with the familiar sights, sounds, and tastes!
Entertainment: Mark your calendars, because the Mutti Gras Pet Parade and Costume Contest will be back on the Plaza on Saturday, February 18th from 12-1PM. Don’t have a four-legged friend to enter in the contest? Just come watch! It is great fun for the whole family. Free live entertainment throughout the weekend will also include the Bear Brass Band, Kenny Sara & The Sounds of New Orleans, Rhythm Krewe, Torrence BRANNON & His Everything with Soul Band and Alligator Beach.
Then return to the Market on Fat Tuesday, February 21st to party with the Nervis Bros on the West Patio from 5:30PM – 8PM.
Crafts: For the little ones, face painting will be available on February 18th while tambourine-making on February 19th will get them in the Mardi Gras spirit.
Eats and Treats: The Gumbo Pot will return with their Beignet Tent on the Market Plaza from 12-4PM on Saturday and Sunday. And, The Gumbo Pot’s West Patio location will be serving their down-home Cajun cooking, including Jambalaya, Gumbo and Po Boys, throughout the celebration.
Quench your thirst at EB’s Beer and Wine, which will have plenty of New Orleans’ favorite brew, Abita Beer, for revelers 21 years and older.
