Editor’s Memo: Elections and Revolutions are Not the Same Thing

WORLD WATCH

CITYWATCH TODAY—The Democrats are having a bit of trouble wrapping up their presidential primary campaign. That’s because they have different goals. Secretary Clinton wants to win an election. Senator Sanders wants to start a revolution. Elections and revolutions are not synonymous.

As the Sandernistas keep saying, ‘it’s not about Bernie, it’s about justice.’ It’s about a different kind of government. And, you can’t change government without changing the system and the people. Only fools go in search of a new cake without changing the recipe. And, this is why the Clinton and the Sanders factions are at odds at the moment. Whatever happens with the election, the Sandernistas understand that the revolution must go on. (Consider the American Revolution. It had nothing to do with an election. It had to do with justice.)

Donna Smith provides more insight, from inside the revolution, in the Editor’s Picks section of Today’s CityWatch. Give it a read. Clarity awaits.

On another front...Richard Lee Abrams attempts to expose the NIMBY myth … in Today’s CityWatch. I can’t guarantee clarity but if you enjoy puzzles, this one’s up your alley. NIMBYISM … piece by piece.

Have at it. Send us your thoughts. We value your insight and wisdom.
