ACCORDING TO LIZ - We can’t wait until 2028. We can’t even wait until November.
If the dithering dolts in Congress refuse to curtail the lawless actions of this president – no longer an option but a Constitutional obligation, perhaps the United Nations should emasculate U.S. veto power and step up to do the right thing.
Americans can then sweep out the vestiges of the current caricature of a government and, when the dust settles, appropriate the assets of all those who supported the administration’s actions as a partial recompense for tax dollars wasted on Trump’s foreign and domestic aggressions.
Add in all the billionaire barons who profited from Trump’s tax shenanigans as a start on making ordinary Americans whole again.
Promise amnesty to all those already embroiled in this imbroglio for refusing to work, refusing to fly, refusing to drop American bombs on civilians. And promise swift and just retribution for every war crime.
For every Democrat and Republican in Congress lauding the president’s action for taking out an autocrat who used his Revolutionary Guard Corps to quell dissidents and murder protestors while developing nuclear weapons, there are far more people here and abroad wondering why a different autocrat who used his National Guard to quell dissidents and murder protestors while hovering his thumb over an arsenal of nuclear weapons has not been removed.
As Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney recommended at Davos, men and women of the world need to band together to shelter the rest of humanity from the match Trump lit in the Middle East on Saturday.
Not as rats deserting a sinking ship but in wisdom.
That should include all far-sighted American politicians wishing to extricate their homeland from becoming the world’s most powerful and despised rogue state.
Has Trump done the same for the American empire?
Like Adolf Hitler forever resenting his childhood illegitimacy and the economic deprivation of post-World War One Germany, America’s current leader is but a disappointed child who, because his toys got taken away from him in the 2020 election and, more recently, was refused the Nobel Peace Prize, now uses his power to spew his hatred at the world in retribution.
If American courts can deliberately bankrupt Greenpeace in political retribution, then the administration honchos and all who benefited individually from their policy manipulations are all fair game. Particularly the president.
And a solid case can be made that judicial delay would be harmful, not to the accused who have lived the life of Riley for far too long, but to the American people who depend on those tax dollars to thrive.
Before his pet conspiracy theorists can derail the 2026 Midterms, before they can permanently overthrow democracy in favor of his autocratic rule by fiat...
Before multiple victims in Iran and other parts of the Middle East start to sue…
And before the Great Aggressor launches his promised “friendly takeover” of Cuba…
Gut the Pentagon’s budget and put it back on the path for which it was intended. Defending the United States, not striving to amass military might and imposing American hegemonic aspirations.
Insist the United States be disqualified from any and all United Nations votes and Security Council vetoes relating to Iran’s demand that the UN take “immediate action to confront the violation of international peace and security.”
Insist that Congress, both the House and Senate, expeditiously vote to pass War Powers resolutions to force the president “to terminate the use of the United States Armed Forces from hostilities against the Islamic Republic of Iran or any part of its government or military, unless explicitly authorized by a declaration of war or specific authorization for use of military force against Iran.”
Insist on a full investigation of the Trump Jr.-advised predictive Polymarket platform where unidentified accounts made millions betting on the timing of Trump’s invasion in the wake of equally suspicious wagers on when the United States’ supreme leader would vanquish the Venezuelan president.
With Netanyahu’s forces obliterating Iran’s Supreme Leader and the continued U.S. barrage killing Iranian civilians and further disrupting the region at great cost to the American taxpayer after achieving Trump’s originally stated objective of forcing regime change, the U.S. president has gone far, far beyond the pale of any presumed legitimacy for this illegal war launched without any attempt to obtain approval of Congress.
He has indeed made his mark on history. As a renegade mass murderer.
Not counting his illegitimate invasions and state-sanctioned executions on the streets of American cities…
Not counting his gutting of government services…
Not counting the placement of unqualified yes-men in positions of power…
Not counting the transfer of tax obligations from his uber-wealthy supporters onto the shoulders of ordinary Americans…
Not counting the evisceration of environmental protections putting the world more at risk for accelerated global warming and the consequent increase in out-migration from poorer countries…
And on top of his using U.S. forces and resources to bomb boats with no documented evidence of wrongdoing, and in the kidnapping of the Venezuelan president and his wife.
To regain any credibility, any standing in the world community, the United States must make the difficult decision to replace this pariah president mid-term. Cut its losses and develop an orderly transition back to democratic rule.
It won’t be easy. And it won’t be cheap.
But when has America ever shied away from doing the right thing?
