ACCORDING TO LIZ - Trump has now illegally bombed nine countries, most recently Venezuela three days into the New Year and Nigeria on Christmas Day, murdering hundreds without the approval of Congress. Third world people slaughtered by the technological fly-wing-pulling-off might of the United States
The Wanna-be King’s air force bombed Caracas and other states in the South American country and, with the assistance of the C.I.A., his Delta Force commandos kidnapped the legitimately-elected president of Venezuela and his wife in violation of the United Nations’ charter, and the American navy is still in pursuit of a Russian tanker. Saber-rattling about invading Iran is mounting.
Which will be the next country attacked by a president who campaigned on a platform of “peace through strength”?
U.S. Secretary of unStatesman-like behavior, Marco Rubio, joined with the Big Boss in placing Cuba, Colombia and Mexico in the crosshairs for future invasion, but the low-hanging fruit for such a list – closer even than Greenland, and the one Trump has coveted as his 51st state for a year – is obviously Canada.
Perhaps it would be wise for Canadian forces to mobilize now and, backed up by the opinion of the International Court – since America’s veto power rules out United Nations’ support, invade Washington once again, kick butt, and this time kidnap the president and all his hooligan henchmen to turn over to a non-partisan American court. More on that below.
Let the United States then hold a new election to replace anyone tainted with the Trump brush. Anybody appointed through favoritism and not qualification who kept their distance could choose to run again but I don’t think the American people can be fooled so easily this time around.
Canada at least wouldn’t have the chutzpah to claim it would run its southern neighbor for the foreseeable future and extract its resources for the benefit of Canadians. Not that Trump has shown any ability to run anything other than into the ground.
Then again…
Consider what King Croesus Don’s ill-gotten crypto gains could do for the rest of the world. There are humongous amounts in humanitarian and ecological reparations that are owed that could come from the current White House cabal and the corporate opportunists that propped it up for their personal profits.
In any event and to avert international opprobrium, Congress should call for an immediate War Powers vote in both the House and the Senate to end this unauthorized attack by a crazy man and his cohorts.
No Kings. No more executive orders. And NO more endless conflicts without the approval of the people of the United States and their duly elected representatives in Congress.
With his “Donroe Doctrine” – an egoistic update of the two-hundred year old Monroe Doctrine irrationally claiming personal jurisdiction over the entire Western Hemisphere, Trump continues to bleat xenophobic ideas, platforming American exceptionalism, and demonstrating a blatant disregard for the lives of millions caught in the crossfire of what is simply a resource war – for Venezuela’s oil – with colonial-era grudges.
Maduro is a problem for Venezuelans to solve, not Americans.
Real solutions in Africa, the Middle East, Central and South America would involve surging humanitarian aid to displaced families, partnering with the United Nations and African Union for joint security training, and pressuring governments through incentives, not threats.
Real strength is in building bridges. Trump shows his weakness by blind belligerence.
Trump’s rhetoric is not just wrong; it is a betrayal of American values. Americans must reject Trump’s imperial fantasy and instead demand congressional oversight on any military action.
In fact, he deserves recognition as the cruel despot and convicted criminal he is, and for actively supporting Netanyahu’s genocide and torture.
All military personnel participating in the egregious attacks who had sworn allegiance to the Constitution and to serve the people, not one leader or one party, need to be cashiered. Immediately.
Everyone in authority who blindly bought into the American Hitler’s relentless propaganda that Maduro was behind drug overdose deaths of millions of Americans and believe the United States deserves its own Putin running roughshod over independent countries, needs to be summarily removed from office to protect the best interests of the American people.
Every elected official who went rah-rah for this display of childish aggression just because the flatulent Führer could, should be recalled for breaking their oath of office to uphold the laws of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.
Everyone in the Petulant Potentate’s court who had any inkling of this plan and did nothing, should summarily be arrested, imprisoned and sentenced by military tribunal to permanent incarceration at Guantánamo Bay to keep Americans and the rest of the world safe from further depredations by a senile old man off his meds.
