Mideast Peace, Danger From Venezuela, The Re-Awakening of Europe, and Nobel Prize Silliness

VOICES

ALPERN AT LARGE - Some of us/you/they get it, and some of us/you/they don’t…and probably never will.

Peace will be achieved through negotiations both compromising and yielding, and through actions both friendly and violent.

President Trump is negotiating peace treaties throughout the world in places most of us don’t know much about, but he’s revving up for war for adversaries like Venezuela’s leader.

President Trump is now a major leader for Mideast Peace, and is beloved and hated alike by both friends and foes of Israel.

The Hamas-held hostages were released in return for two thousand criminals, many of whom are violent enough that WE would never let them out of our prisons (think we would have let Charles Manson, the Hillside Strangler, John Wayne Gacy, or Ted Bundy go if China and Russia demanded them in a prison swap?).

Qatar had a role in both the October 7th massacres of 2023 that set world opinion aflame all around, and as well played a major role in the downfall of the Biden/Harris Administration and the cohesion of the Democratic Party, but both Qatar and Israel loooooooooove President Trump.

President Trump wanted a Nobel Peace Prize in 2025, and demands fealty and support for that effort while many who wish to curry favor with President Trump are calling out for his nomination and winning that Nobel Peace Prize in 2026.

The 2025 winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Venezuelan opposition leader in hiding Maria Corina Machado, dedicated her prize to Donald Trump and pleaded with him and the United States to rescue Venezuela from its leader-turned-narco-terrorism-drug-lord President Nicolás Maduro: that means war.

The big turning point in Mideast peace (or at least the current round of hopes for it) came when the United States sent bombers around the world to take out its nuclear facilities: that meant war, but it meant American strength and tenacity as well.

Russia and China were watching, and so were Iran and Hamas, during both the previous Biden and current Trump Administrations—the whole “Trump Always Chickens Out (TACO)” may be funny…but the White House is not exactly radiating its intent to chicken out on any foreign or domestic fight.

Which may be bad, and which may be good. Pissing off Canada and some of our European allies may be bad…but letting them know that if it’s a choice between China/Russia running the world vs. the United States...may be good.

Venezuelans and other Latin American citizens want our help, and Trump-counterpart Nigel Farage may be the next Prime Minister of Great Britain amidst an awakening among Great Britain, its neighbor Ireland, and much of the European Continent that the leaders of the European Union and United Nations are NOT friends to the citizenry.

Peace through talking, and peace through strength, and the questions of whether or not the “peaceful” and “wise” Nobel Prize Peace Committee, United Nations, and all worldwide/global elites are the best representatives of Planet Earth’s peoples (and environmental and economic policies to boot) are debates very much now in play.

Some of us/you/they get it, and some of us/you/they don’t…and probably never will understand how complicated and interwoven our world’s crises and rivalries now are.

So President Trump, whether he wins the Nobel Prize or not someday or some year, is a brazen bull in a china shop.

But the question of whether or not we need that bull to fix things in our current convoluted and crazy time is timely question, indeed…and one which has an answer many of us just won’t like at all.
