We The People are Stupid

VOICES

THE VIEW FROM HERE - While waiting to get my Covid-flu shots, I saw a young guy wearing a T shirt saying, Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers.  Apparently, the phrase has been around since 1959.  Too bad the idea was not part of the opening line of the US Constitution. Never underestimate the power of We the People to do stupid things.  In fact, the Constitution’s myriad checks and balances were included to prevent We The People from doing stupid things, primarily allowing a tyrant to seize control of the government.   The Federal Papers went to great efforts to explain the need to prevent power from accumulating in any one faction in the government.  We the People always want more and more power for politicians to do whatever a particular group of We the People want.  Of course, in reality it is the politicos who trick the people into making stupid decisions.

That is the reason the framers did not form a democracy.  Sooner rather than later, the We The Voters install a tyrant because We The People are stupid and unable to see that politicos who want more power are only interested in themselves and could not care less than what benefits the General Welfare.  In fact, the GOP has convinced millions of Americans than promoting for the General Welfare is a communist plot to destroy the country.  A prime example is the lunatic, whom We The People allowed to become Secretary of The Department of Health and Human Service. He does not even comprehend the nature of a public health agency is not to let each individual make scientific decisions for himself so that vaccine become optional.

It is government's constitutional duty to promote the General Welfare by moving the entire population toward herd immunity for horrible diseases.  Yet, this fool makes totally unfounded attacks on the General Welfare by telling pregnant women not to take Tylenol because it will cause autism and to postpone newborn Hepatitis B shots for at least one month.  Babies routinely get the shot within an hour of birth, while still in the hospital.  If babies have to wait one month, most will not get the shot as it requires the parents to take the child to the doctor.  While the exact percentage of babies who will not get the shot or are exposed to Hepatitis B within that one month is unknown, waiting serves absolutely no benefit to the child or the public.  The policy will definitely do harm (to) tens of thousands of babies and to the general public by making Hepatitis B more prevalent.   Do tens of millions of parents, who are We The People, rise up in mass and denounce such stupidity? No!  Instead, millions claim that it is their right to decide what vaccines their child gets.  We saw the same stupidity with the anti-Covid vaxers who died in higher percentages than those who got the Covid shots.  So too with measles!   A large segment of We The People believe that promoting the General Welfare is unconstitutional.  Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo, declared, "Who am I to tell you what you should put in your body?," then he dropped all vaccine mandates.

We The People are Stupid, the Nation is Polarized

Stupid people are easily misled.  Millions of American believe that preventing qualified Asians students from attending Harvard and other Ivy League colleges will benefit less qualified Blacks!  All the major colleges and universities followed this absurd practice of discriminating against Asians and Jews (Jews were too dumb to complain).  In 2023, The US Supreme Court did stop this foolishness in the case of "Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard."  When Trump decided to stop similar and worse discrimination against Jews due to near ubiquitous anti-Semitism, he and millions of American thought it was wise to slash hundreds of millions of dollars medical research.   Tens of millions of other fools think that Israel is starving Gazans, when every single facts proves that Israel has been feeding Gazans and that the food shortage is 100% due to Hamas' stealing much of the food which the NGOs brought to Gaza.

Everywhere we look in America, to the Left to the Right, we see stupid people in large groups making America worse each day.  Now, We The People allow Trump tell all the assembled generals, admirals, chiefs of staff of every branch of the US military that because we have enemies from within, the US military should train against the citizens our cities which Trump dislikes.  As Trump told the world during the Charlie Kirk memorial service,  "I hate my opponent and I don't want the best for them. . . . Right now I cant stand my opponent.   Supporting Trump was his own rabid dog Stephen Miller: heres the Kirk eulogy by Trumps own Joseph Goebbels

Do We The People Do Anything?

Nope.  Although it is correct to classified Woke DEI as a pernicious ideology which has infected the body politic, the MAGA crowd has been grossly incompetent in explaining what is wrong with Woke DEI.   If one is dumb enough to believe Secretary of Defense, Pig Hegseth, who is too dumb to know that no matter what Trump writes, it is not the War Department, DEI is fat generals walking the halls of the Pentagon and weak women in combat roles.  Reality Check: The military standards for women in combat roles are not lower than for men; they are the same for specific combat positions.

Americans, who understand the ideology of Woke DEI (Diversity, Equality and Inclusion), recognize that Wokeism denies that each individual has inalienable rights, but rather under Wokeism individuals are to be judged by the color of their skin, the gender, ethnicity, etc. Wokeism trashes the core American ethos that all human beings have inalienable rights including Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.   As MLK said, judge a person by his character and not by skin color.

Only a nation of stupid people would need anyone to explain the difference between individual inalienable rights and group rights which divide the world into two groups: Oppressors (Jews and Whites) and Oppressed (everyone else unless they belong to a grievance group).  No society can withstand the power of a large group of stupid people.
