MY POV - In order to keep all of you informed, last night 31 workers were fortunately rescued after a tunnel under construction collapsed in Los Angeles. DUH!! And for those of you who are for tunneling under our residential community--or for that matter any other residential community--let me remind you that your head is not a neck ornament--and this is an option that will never happen. How anyone could advocate for a solution that they have no idea how much it will cost and how long it will take to build must have put their brains in the micro-wave while they came to that conclusion. Let me be clear --no one--with an IQ above 50--except our political leaders of course--would trust the Morons of Metro to build anything under their community--make it safe, build it on time, and on budget--and as of today no one has any accurate answers to those issues---other than the intentional misinformation that Metro spews. What does 25 years of futility and ineptness get you--two items if you're Metro's CEO--you get your contract renewed for 4 years with a 20% raise and you get a personal photographer. This only happens with executives having zero accountability to their Board--which for all practical purposes is useless. A strong Mayor--which we don't have--we have sort of a version of Mrs. Doubtfire-- lovely, charming, warm--and absolutely not real-- would not countenance this for even a minute. I suggest that everyone read Rick Caruso's op-ed today. He's a leader--someone this city should have elected--as I've said before Angelino's are great--our political leaders suck--and if any of them are offended by this note, I suggest they look in the mirror. It’s not a surprise that the quality of life in LA continues to decline.
Last week in Metro's version of Kabuki theater, they brought someone from Bechtel to make a presentation to the Sherman Oaks Community. A senior executive of Bechtel?--of course not---just another pr/ lobbyist--so as usual Metro's version community outreach is a total waste of time. Metro's version of Show and Tell--we'll show you what we want, tell you what we want, but won't tell you anything that's actually meaningful. No substantive or accurate disclosure--just canned responses---because Metro's course of behavior is to never be candid with the public it’s supposed to serve--which is the real reason they will not make public the documents our community has requested. The real question is what are they hiding and what are they afraid of?
More next week....but its way past the time for people to actually start paying attention to these buffoons--Metro needs money--asking for $3B for the Olympics-and more money from the state--and just to add to their contempt of the community and the public they are supposed to serve--they stated that they haven't analyzed the cost of the project yet---11 years and counting--(and based on current similar construction projects they are at least $20B-- $25B light--and based on their prior record and ineptitude that number is giving them the benefit of the doubt)--it’s a rats nest that needs to be cleaned out--and totally reorganized...
