Written by KNEWZ STAFF.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti was involved in a physical fight at Los Angeles City Hall last month that resulted in him receiving first aid from the paramedics from Emergency Medical Services Bureau of the Fire Department, KNEWZ has exclusively learned

.A unit from the Los Angeles Police Department also attended.

The incident and the circumstances around it have remained secret until now. It occurred after regular business hours, source said — and the altercation was with another man whom it’s understood was known to Garcetti. No arrests were made in connection with the fight, nor is it known if the LAPD took a police report in the matter.

Two law enforcement sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, described the scene as  a “total disaster.” Both refused to be drawn on whether the department had attempted to cover-up the incident because of the mayor’s position of power.

It’s understood the both and LAPD and LAFD responded not as a result of a 911 call, but from a top aide who contacted authorities seeking their assistance.

LAPD officials referred a KNEWZ request for comment to the mayor’s office. The mayor’s office refused to respond to repeated questions about the incident. LAFD officials also ignored requests for comments.
