Donald Trump – Spoiled Brat Syndrome

IMPORTANT READS

THE VIEW FROM HERE - Donald Trump’s Spoiled Brat Syndrome is a combination of a DSM-5 301.50 Histrionic Personality Disorder HPD and a DSM-5 301.81 Narcissistic Personality Disorder NPD with paranoid features.  The purpose of the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) is to classify constellations of behaviors which occur together frequently enough to become a disorder, which is a fixed range of behaviors which the individual repeats to the extent that others can predict how he will behave.

Spoiled Brats will get older without becoming mature adults.  There are at least ten signs by which one may identify The Adult Spoiled Brat    There is also an article which describes the adult who is a Histrionic Narcissistic .  In fact, readers who are really interested in understanding Donald Trump’s personality dynamics would do well to stop reading this article and read the two hyperlinks in blue.  If after reading the articles, you think Trump is A-OK, you may be in a Very Large Cult   Perhaps, the Twilight Zone episode where a child brat banishes anyone who displeases him to a mysterious cornfield – never to return – permits us to understand what happens with a society which allows itself to be subjected to the whims of an Adult Child Brat. See Season 3 Episode 8

Purge of Any Independent Thinkers

Spoiled Brats cannot tolerate any disagreement; in fact, they must be the center of attention, and they demand constant praise.  That’s why Trump’s cabinet meetings begin with everyone telling Trump how wonderful he is.  In his first administration, Trump was forced to have cabinet members and advisors who gave advice based upon facts, which naturally contradicted his simplistic beliefs.  One of the nation’s best economic advisors was Gary Cohn, who tried to explain the complicated world of tariffs, but Trump stuck to his simple 1500's belief that tariffs were beneficial and would bring more manufacturing to one’s country. He also believes that the other country pays the tariffs to the United States, when in reality tariffs are another tax on consumers. Due to Trump’s ignorant intransigence on tariffs, Cohn quit.  For his second administration Trump has pro-tariff fools, like Peter Navarro, for advisors.  The narcissistic portion of the Spoiled Brat personality will banish anyone who does not agree with him, while the histrionic aspect leaves Trump without the analytical ability to foresee the harm of absurd policies.

Trump Is the World’s Worst Negotiator

Trump’s claims to have negotiated many trade deals is bogus.  When a country does not agree to what he wants, Trump unilaterally imposes tariffs on the country.  A deal requires mutual assent which means both sides freely decide on the terms.  A Spoiled Brat, however, imposes whatever he wants, and the other side has to take it or leave it.  Trump is blind to the fact that his obnoxious behavior invites retaliation in other areas; he poisons vital relations for the foreseeable future as he causes good trading partners to develop new economic relations with other nations.  Also, corporations will make guarantees to invest billions into the US with no intention of following through.  Does anyone think that Apple will be making $3,000 iPhones in the US?  Executives have learned to just say, “Yes” to the crazy man and give him a gift of gold. Above all else, do not tell him that he has made the Oval Office gaudier than a low class bordello.

Another reason that Trump is a horrible negotiator is that he tells everyone what he wants in advance.  Trump will go so far as to make concessions before the negotiations start and he will let the other side set the meeting’s parameters, as he is doing with Putin.  Trump’s mishandling of the Ukraine Crisis threatens the stability of the Free World.  His Adult Spoiled Brat Syndrome is undermining all the other good policies which he has for Europe and the Middle East

The Ukraine, the Spoiled Brat, and Putin

Two of Trump’s traits spell great peril with respect Trump’s handling of Ukraine: (1) his being highly suggestible to the point of gullibility, (2) his false belief that he has close personal relationship with Putin.  The only person in the world who does not know that Putin has been and still is playing Trump for a fool is Donald Trump.  In fact, Putin detests Donald Trump.  The Trump - Putin situation may be complicated in that Putin is probably blackmailing Trump with Trump’s tax returns, etc.  When Trump first went to Russia in 1987, he was the guest of the KGB, which routinely videoed important foreigners.  Putin was a KGB lieutenant colonel who served from 1975 until 1991, primarily in foreign intelligence.  It would be extreme naivete to believe that Putin lacks a wide range of embarrassing evidence on Trump.  The Ukrainian situation is particularly dangerous for the US and Europe because Trump fell into a Narcissistic Rage over Zelenskyy’s refusal to interfere in the 2016 election.   It is speculative but possible that Trump suffers a teenager’s idol worship on Putin. Trump may still be trying to injure Zelenskyy and win his idol’s favor by giving Putin a part of Ukraine.  Putin, however, knows that he can take whatever he wants, and Trump will do nothing effective. That is why it is imperative that Zelenskyy be part of the Friday, August 15, 2025 meeting with Trump and Putin.

Neville Chamberlain Redux

Trump is set to claim, “peace in our time,” by allowing Putin to annex the Bondas region of Ukraine the same as Neville Chamberlain agreed in 1938 that Hitler could take the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia.  As Churchill predicted, Hitler then took all of Czechoslovakia while Britain and France did nothing, similar to how in 2025 Putin will take Donbas and then invade the rest of Ukraine.

The ramifications of Trump’s selling out Ukraine are horrendous.  The Europeans will surely intensify their opposition to Trump’s plans in the Middle East, which will be cutting off their noses to spite their faces. No one will trust the US to be an ally.  If Trump should slip on a banana peel and be no more, will the remainder of the warring GOP party be able to rectify Trump’s errors or will the USA self-destruct?
