Plaza México presents its annual Good Friday Celebration, featuring a powerful and immersive Passion Play that brings to life the story of Jesus Christ—his life, suffering, death, and resurrection.

Performed by Cecilia Cruz’s International Group of Independent Actors (Gidai Teatro), this dramatic production includes a cast of 35 community actors from across Southern California. Audiences are invited to become part of the experience, witnessing and participating in scenes from Christ’s trial through his crucifixion and resurrection.

This moving presentation transcends traditional theater, offering a deeply spiritual and cultural experience that celebrates faith, community, and heritage. The event welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds, including Latino, Mexican, Central American communities, and individuals of all faiths.

Plaza México, a vibrant cultural landmark in Lynwood, provides a unique setting inspired by traditional Mexican architecture and iconic landmarks—creating an authentic and meaningful backdrop for this annual tradition.
