Riverside County medians run roughly $200,000 to $300,000 below Orange County and $350,000 to $450,000 below coastal LA. The population numbers back it up. Riverside County grew from about 2.42 million residents in 2020 to nearly 2.53 million by 2024, and IRS migration data show that much of that inflow came directly from Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties.
Jobs, not just cheaper houses
Affordability started the trend, but work made it stick. The IE has become the logistics capital of Southern California, with Amazon, Walmart, and a dense cluster of distribution centers hiring across warehousing and transportation. Be honest about the tradeoffs
The Inland Empire earns its reputation, but go in clear-eyed.
The commute is the big one.
