LA Budget Town Hall

TOP VIDEO FEATURE

NEIGHBORHOOD POLITICS-The Neighborhood Council Budget Advocates are sponsoring a virtual town hall on Saturday, April 24 at 10 AM.  It will consist of an overview of the Mayor’s Proposed Budget that will be submitted to the City Council on Tuesday, April 20 and will be available at that time on the City Administrative Officer’s website.  After the brief overview of the Proposed Budget and its impact on Angelenos, the Budget Advocates will welcome questions and will do our best to respond to your inquiries.

In anticipation of the Proposed Budget, the Budget Advocates have also released its annual White Paper. It consists of two sections.  The first is an overview of the City’s budget and finances while the second part is a report on selected departments and our recommendations based on discussions with the management of the departments.

The Budget Advocates support the recommendations of the City Administrative Officer on the use of the first of two $667 million infusions to be received from the Federal Government.  These include balancing this year’s budget, eliminate the need for deficit financing, and replenishing the Reserve and budget Stabilization Funds.  These reserves will be needed to balance the upcoming budget which is expected to show a deficit even after the second infusion of cash from the Federal Government.

We look forward to your participation on Saturday.
