VOICES-(Re CityWatch article ‘The First Amendment May Require …’) Andrew, the writer of this article, left out how we might also want to shut down the jihadists websites that are recruiting young minded people to create and kill others...while using their 1st Amendment rights under our Constitution.
I think we need to amend that Amendment to make sure we all do not have the right to promote causes that would put democracy at risk.
No one should have the right to teach hate or promote a violent overthrow of democracy.
We - all of us, including our government, should do more to stop any kind of speech that is disrespectful or hateful.
Others can believe whatever they want, but they should not - in my opinion - have the right under the 1st - to threaten any person or government.
