Random Alphabet Drawing Determines Order of Candidates on the Ballot in 2015 Municipal Elections

LOS ANGELES (December 10, 2014) Los Angeles City Clerk Holly L. Wolcott announced the results of a public drawing held this morning to determine the order that candidates in the 2015 Municipal Elections will appear on the March and May ballots.

The sequence in which the City Clerk randomly drew alphabet letters constitutes the order in which the candidates’ names will be listed under each office in races for the Los Angeles City Council (Districts 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14), the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education (Offices 1, 3, 5, and 7), and the Los Angeles Community College Board of Trustees (Seats 1, 3, 5, and 7).

The following order will be used for the ballot in the March 3, 2015 Primary Nominating Election and, if a runoff election is needed, the May 19, 2015 General Municipal Election: 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Office of the City Clerk - Election Division will certify and release the final list of candidates who have qualified to appear on the March 2015 ballot after all of the signatures on each candidate’s Nominating Petition are verified. The process of verifying signatures will be completed no later than Saturday, December 13, 2014.
