LANCC REPORT - LA City Council President Herb Wesson and newcomer Councilman Mitch Englander played to a full house at Saturday’s LANCC forum.
The two were featured on the LA Neighborhood Council Coalition’s Hollywood City Hall stage and pitched, cajoled and danced their way through myriad subjects and issues.
Among other things, Wesson said that the Council is “prepared to beef up the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment” and agreed with the concept of NC representatives serving on City commissions and committees.
Englander was there to try to energize participation in his goal to fix all of LA’s streets and pay for it with a multi-billion dollar bond measure. He said that nothing is ‘set in stone’ … as far as planning goes … and the hearing and planning process will take some months.
DONE GM Grayce Liu spent a bunch of time with the group as well … much of it dialoguing on neighborhood council funding plans.
