The 1% are at it again. Multi-millionaire Richard Riordan and his billionaire friends are leading the attack against working people. They are spending millions to place a measure on the May 2013 ballot that would slash LA city workers’ retirement benefits and replace them with risky, costly 401(k) plans.
City workers don't get Social Security. Their retirement benefits are all they have. Riordan’s scheme would hurt hard working trash collectors, librarians, firefighters, custodians, nurses and other public workers who keep LA running. Wall St. and the 1% should pay for their economic crisis, not working families who played no role in it.
Join SEIU 721, the Coalition of LA City Unions and allied organizations as we kick off the campaign to prevent Riordan from qualifying his retirement-busting ballot initiative.
Campaign kickoff and Rally on Saturday, November 17 at 10am. We’ll rally with LA City Workers to Save Retirement in LA, followed by a BBQ and then hit the streets to urge people not to sign Riordan's petition. He needs to gather 255,000 signatures from voters in the City of LA by Dec. 7.

- Contact us when you see Riordan’s paid signature gatherers.
- Don’t sign his petition and tell everyone you know not to sign.
- Circulate a petition to withdraw the names of people who have already signed Riordan’s petition.
