Our 3rd Annual Nikkei Celebration in Boyle Heights is a vibrant event commemorating the impactful Japanese community.
Come and join us as we delve into the rich history of Japanese culture in Boyle Heights. The Nikkei Celebration will showcase the enduring legacy of Otomisan’s Landmark, the only continuously operating authentic Japanese restaurant in the same location since 1956, serving Boyle Heights. This is not just an event; it's a journey through time and culture.
Your participation is not just a visit; it's a statement of support for our event and an investment in preserving Boyle Heights' vibrant Nikkei heritage for future generations.
The honorable Consul General of Japan in Los Angeles, SONE Kenko, will deliver an inspiring message to open our program. This will be followed by performances from Hikari Taiko, the 2023 Nisei Weeks Queen Court, and Boyle Heights Neighborhood Music School. Additionally, there will be presentations from various groups and businesses showcasing their products and services.
To conclude our event, we will have the Ondo Dancing to celebrate another year of uniting our community and sharing the history of our Japanese families, friends, and neighbors.

Food and Drinks: Otomisan will be open with a selected menu for food and drinks. Additionally, there will be a fresh fruit truck vendor and a corner store available.
Seating: There will be seating in front of the stage, and selected seating on the first rows for elders and people with disabilities under the canopies.
Vendors: Get ready to explore a variety of fantastic items available for purchase and support our nonprofits by making generous contributions. Your financial support is greatly appreciated and will make a significant impact.
Important Message: We are excited to create a memorable time and look forward to seeing you there.
