# 75 Military and Legal Experts Reject the Genocide Charge Against Israel. Where Does That Leave Nithya Raman?

THE VIEW FROM HERE - October 7th was not a one-time attack. October 7th initiated the war on innocent civilians and since then Hamas has actively pursued to war. October 7, 2023 Hamas launched 2,500 to 5,000 + rockets along with an invasion of over 6,000 Hamas militants and Gazan civilians into southern Israel: The breakdown of who invaded shows there were 3,800 highly trained commandos and about 2,200 militants and Gazan civilians. Although the IDF repelled Hamas and the Gazans from Israel, Hamas continued firing about 8,500 more missiles and rockets into Israel.
Not until three weeks later on October 27, 2023, did the IDF launch its defensive counterattack into Gaza to stop Hamas. Thus, Hamas had continued its attacks on Israel for three weeks, during which time Hamas could have stopped. Ghazi Hamad, a Senior Hamas official, stated on Lebanon TV that October 7th was the first attempt to eradicate the Jews and “there will be a second, a third, a fourth" attempt. Hamas would repeat October 7th over and over until all the Jews were eliminated as stated in Hamas 1987 Charter. As for the maimed and dead Gazans would be casualties, Ghazi Hamad described Palestinians as a "nation of martyrs" who would be proud to sacrifice lives for the cause. Hamas’ attacks did not cease until the IDF neutralized Hamas.
Nithya Raman and the Genocide Blood Libel
On May 19, 2026, Nithya Raman joined Hasan Piker live stream, claiming Israel is committing genocide. There is no worse charge than genocide. Nithya Raman with her Harvard BA and her MIT masters knows how \[to\] vet such a vicious statement. Either she knew that genocide charge was utterly false or she was consciously indifferent to the accusation’s truth or falsity. This is the type of person who wants to be mayor.
On September 29th, when questioned about her genocide accusation, Raman falsely replied, “I have looked to experts -- international experts, Israeli experts.” She did not name a single expert. The word “expert” implies a neutral third party with the background which qualifies the person to offer an opinion and not a political hack or a Hamas operative. Given LA’s standing as America’s second largest city, any leading candidate for mayor had easy access to real experts.
The Charge That Israel Is Committing Genocide Is Factually False
Between October 10 and October 24, 2023, fourteen academic groups supporting the BDS movement (Boycott, Divest, Sanction Israel) across twelve U.S. campuses formally accused Israel of genocide. Notice that the BDS movement is already highly anti-Israel and their charges started long before the IDF entered Gaza. The Blood Libel that Israel was committing genocide grew primarily from them. October 13, 2023, Raz Segal published article calling Israel's military campaign in Gaza a "textbook case of genocide." A “textbook case” – a week before a single IDF soldier entered Gaza?!?
Obviously, no bona fide expert would opine that there was a genocide while Israel was still under attack and had yet to enter Gaza in self-defense. Furthermore, is no evidence that afterward, Israel tried to harm Gazan civilians.
If Raman wanted facts about Gaza, she should have consulted within at least one of the 75 military experts who have reviewed all the reliable data rather than bogus media stories and Hamas cohorts. The military experts’ letter starts: “As retired senior military leaders and legal experts, on this, the third anniversary of Hamas's October 7, 2023 brutal attack on Israel, we reject claims that Israel committed genocide in Gaza.” [**75 Military Experts Reject Genocide Charge**](https://tinyurl.com/4h8prk5t)
They explain:
1\) Israel Defense Forces (IDF), acting in justified self-defense, went to extreme lengths to protect civilians in Gaza, including from Hamas.
2\) The number of civilian deaths occurring during combat, however tragic, are insufficient to support a finding of genocide, a fact which Israel's accusers appear woefully ignorant. Also, the data from Hamas was highly unreliable.
3\) The IDF has provided civilians with numerous advance warnings — leaflets, phone calls, text messages, radio and TV broadcasts, and social media notices including evacuation instructions, protected corridors, and tactical pauses to help move them out of harm's way, even when those precautionary measures ceded tactical advantage Hamas.
4\) Israel has not committed genocide but rather set a high bar for how to conduct urban warfare against an enemy who will stop at nothing, including the death of its own civilians.
Read the names and positions of the 57 military experts with special attention to the last name, Major john Spencer, Chair of Urban Warfare at West Point. Would not moral person have consulted with real experts to ascertain the truth before making such horrendously false charges?
As Hasan Piker has stated, American Jews who are attacked on American streets have brought such hatred upon themselves by supporting Israel. Nithya Raman knows that Jews are being attacked and killed due to these false charges. An elderly Jewish couple on a Santa Monica Street was subject to such attack a few days after her life stream with Hasan Piker. The man, Nay Min Tar, shouted “genocide," "genocidal," and "perpetrators." While Raman may claim there is no proof that her statement influenced Nay Min Tar to attack the couple, his name suggests that he is from Myanmar with 4% chance of being Muslim. After Mr. Tar’s trial, we may know more what prompted his attack.
When asked why she appeared with Hasan Piker, Nithya Raman replied that she wanted to reach a wider audience. Suppose Karen Bass used the same justification “because that is where the audience is,” to justify her live streaming with the KKK, claiming that Blacks have low IQs. “Tell me with whom you associate, and I will tell you who you are" Goethe

The reality is that on November 3rd, Angelenos can do nothing about Donald Trump. We need to face our own miscreants. Although many commentators agree that Karen Bass has not been a very good mayor, Nithya Raman would be a giant step in the wrong direction. She sought out Hasan Piker and engaged in the most vile Blood Libel in order to get votes. That tactic succeeded in the primary and she shows no intention of relinquishing that advantage by admitting the truth.
