 ALPERN AT LARGE - Contrary to popular belief, Israelis are NOT supposed to suffer, get maimed, and die because they are NOT allowed to defend themselves.

Contrary to popular belief, Jews have been present throughout the Middle East, and particularly in the land of the old Kingdom of David and Solomon (Judea and Samaria) for millenia.

Contrary to popular belief, the Jews who fled and/or were airlifted from Russia, Ethiopia, and the West are not colonizers as much as they wanted a land they could be free oppression worldwide, and a land to which they had prominent and definitive historic ties.

Contrary to popular belief, all surrounding Arab lands expelled all their Jews, and the local Jews in the Middle East had NOWHERE TO GO save the new land of Israel.

Contrary to popular belief, there have been at least five times that a Palestinian state was offered to those displaced in 1948 (and even before 1948!), but their desire to drive out and kill the Jews outweighed the desire to live peacefully among them.

Contrary to popular belief, the “occupied” land of Gaza was given to Palestinian residents after decades of Israeli hegemony and after development by the Israelis…and it was the Palestinian residents who voted in Hamas, and these residents have failed to fight back despite support from Israel and the West.

Contrary to popular belief, the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank has let Gazans burn and suffer in their abject poverty, while worldwide Gazan aid primarily ends up going to Hamas.

Contrary to popular belief, Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan and all other Arab neighbors have all failed to take in the Gazans…because they don’t want violent residents anymore than any other nation in the world.

Contrary to popular belief, Israel once kicked out large numbers of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon to throngs of cheering crowds, because Lebanese were so distraught by the violent actions carried out after Lebanon took them in.

Contrary to popular belief, Egypt does NOT want Gazans because of the violent Hamas presence among them, because of the slaying of Sinai Egyptian policeman by Hamas, and because of the relationship Hamas had with the Muslim Brotherhood who previously terrorized Egypt for decades.

Contrary to popular belief, a frightening number of Gazans prefer to support Hamas, and prefer to stay in Gaza, and prefer to raise and honor teenagers and youths who intentionally kidnap, rape, and slaughter Israeli and other Jewish civilians, and particularly Jewish children.

Contrary to popular belief, there is NO organized Palestinian resistance to Hamas, ideally led by heroic Arab men and women, to bring prosperity and peace to Gaza.

Therefore, thusly, and accordingly, it bears repeating:

Contrary to popular belief, Israelis are not supposed to suffer, get maimed, and die because they are not allowed to defend themselves.
