 GUEST WORDS - Prior to the destructive Eaton Canyon fire on January 7, 2025 four Southern California Edison power lines had an increase of electrical currents which occurred on the Edison's Eagle Rock- Gould line. This line connects to the Gould substation in La Canada - Flintridge close to five miles from the suspected start of the Eaton Canyon Fire.

The surge of the electrical currents from the Eagle Rock – Gould lines caused a fault which sent increased currents across the transmission lines over Eaton Canyon.

One can only imagine if the destructive fire had started in the foothills above the Interstate 134 located in east portion of Eagle Rock.

Massive homes and property would have been destroyed in Eagle Rock, Southwest Pasadena, La Canada and Flintridge areas located south of the Interstate 210 and both Glenoaks and Chevy Chase Canyon areas located in Glendale.

In fact, residents who resided both in the Glenoaks and Chevy Chase Canyon areas were evacuated by the Glendale Police Department on January 7th, 2025.

Review of the Southern California Edison power lines in Eagle Rock show large amounts of dried foliage, trees and brush located under the constructed power lines.

Currently there is a court order which was issued by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ashfaq G. Chowdhury which mandates that Southern California Edison can't alter any data and must preserve all of their previous data and hardware which may help to explain the cause of the Eaton Canyon fire.

Edison agreed to preserve and not alter towers and transmission lines from the Eagle Rock Gould lines to the location of the transmission lines located in Eaton Canyon.

Several Altadena residents and business owners have now filed civil lawsuits which have named Southern California Edison as the responsible party for the cause of the Eaton Canyon Fire.

Attorneys for the plaintiffs have now asked a judge to sanction Southern California Edison stating that Edison secretly re-energized transmission lines in their attempt to alter evidence to show how the fire started.

Additional court filings by the plaintiffs’ attorneys now accuse Southern California Edison of Tampering with possible Eaton Canyon fire evidence.

Southern California Edison has denied the plaintiff claims.

As we all know on the same date of the Eaton Canyon fire January 7th , but which started earlier in the day was the destructive Pacific Palisades fire .

Both of these horrific events left thousands of people homeless, many business destroyed but also many lives were lost.

Governor Newsom has requested an investigation as to why the water reservoir located in Pacific Palisades was empty and why fire hydrants were without water.

My question is why hasn't Los Angeles City Mayor Karen Bass requested her own investigation on the Department of Water and Power surrounding these major water issues?

A spokesperson for Mayor Karen Bass has stated that the Pacific Palisades Reservoir had been empty of water for over a year.

I communicated with a 33-year veteran of the Department of Water and Power, and they stated that there is so much in house fighting within the Department of Water and Power. “So many Administrators who don't know what they are doing.

The Pacific Palisades Reservoir needed a new covering. The DWP spent so much time sending out requests for bids when they could have completed the job themselves. End result no cover no water.

Would it have made a difference? We will never know. Those Santa Ana winds were close to 100 miles an hour.

What we do know is that DWP dropped the ball big time!

Can the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power explain why the Eagle Rock Reservoir also has little to no water. This has been the case now for several years. Just think if the Eaton fire had started in Eagle Rock.

Our new Los Angeles CD 14 Councilwoman Ysabel J. Jurado needs to request an investigation on the Department of Water and Power surrounding the Eagle Rock Reservoir.

Don’t expect Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to demand an investigation. She is too busy throwing people under the bus.
