Hot Tip: LACMA Latin Sounds Music Series is Fun … and FREE!

ARCHIVE

This past Saturday, I went on down to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for the free concert series, “Latin Sounds.” I go most every Saturday. Boy, it’s a real fiesta over there in Hancock Park. Don’t get confused like I did about the name of the park. It’s just what they call the lawn area behind the Hammer building at LACMA.

Go early because the place fills up quick. You can bring picnic blankets, all your own grub, any drinks you want, lawn chairs (but they do have quite a few available as well), your dog, and your dancin’ shoes.

I made a little VIDEO for ya’ll to see a little bit of what it’s like. Hope to see you there! Enjoy LA!

NEED TO KNOW:

LATIN SOUND MUSIC SERIES AT LACMA - 5905 Wilshire Blvd. (Map) Hancock Park (behind the Hammer building)

Saturdays through September 1 at 5:00

Park at the Pritzker Parking Garage on Sixth St, just east of Fairfax Ave, and on the corner of Wilshire Blvd at Spaulding Ave. The $10 charge may be prepaid at the ticket office. Parking is free after 7 pm entry, but that doesn’t help for the music series. Best thing to do is to look for street parking in the neighborhood. Just beware of permit only signage.

HOT TIP: The LACMA Museum is free for all members; for Los Angeles County residents every day M-F after 3; for active duty military personnel through Sept. 3; for those under 18 with an adult; on federal holidays and for everyone on the second Tuesday of each month.
