In my first 16 months in office I have focused on tackling the fundamental local issues residents and neighborhoods in the Sixth District are facing:
>
> - I prevented the issuance of a multi-million dollar city contract to a nuisance trash operator with a history of environmental violations, finally forcing them to respect the local community, and clean up their operation, and enclose the facility.
> - I have dedicated funds from my office to increase graffiti and bulky item removal services, a major problem in our neighborhoods.
> - Due to the over-concentration of illegal marijuana dispensaries in my district, we have been partnering closely with LAPD and the City Attorney's office to uphold Prop D compliance and close down over 60% of illegal facilities.
> - Finally, with the help of LAPD, we have dedicated direct resources to the prostitution and human trafficking issue plaguing the District, and are really starting to see results.
