# U.S. Steals, Applies Russian Subversion Techniques

***CERDAFIED***-In 1985, Yuri Alexandrovich Bezmenov, a former subversive KGB agent explained how America was being subverted from within [during a television interview](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMWVUoYNezU#t=417). He briefly outlined how the KGB focused approximately 85% of their efforts on ideological subversion, not spying as one would assume.
Why would so much time, money and effort be devoted to subversion? There are 3 reasons; control, power, and money**.**
The U.S. government was intrigued by other super powers use of subversion.
