> ![](https://www.citywatchla.com/images/stories/Feb-2012/cw1011e.png)MEMO FROM THE MAYOR - As the City of Los Angeles continues on the path towards fiscal sustainability, it is important to receive the input and participation of Neighborhood Councils and their constituents.

  This year we gained valuable insight from community stakeholders by partnering with the Neighborhood Council Budget Advocates to design the community budget survey. ([Must See Video](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozdY_dwwGu4))

The community budget survey was released January 15, 2012 and distributed to all 95 Neighborhood Councils around the City. It is available for public access at [budgetsurveyla.com](http://budgetsurveyla.com). The survey includes questions focused on the City’s major budget concerns for the upcoming fiscal year, and will be available until February 22, 2012. Upon the deadline, my office will collect the information and release the findings to the public.

We hope that Angelenos will take full advantage of this opportunity. This is your chance to help make the City work for you; your views are a vital aspect in creating a spending plan that truly reflects the needs of our city.
