Event: California Department of Veterans Affairs to Host Ceremony sponsored by United States Department of Defense Date: Friday, February 24, 2012 Time: 10:30 a.m. Place: Veterans Home of California – West Los Angeles 11500 Nimitz Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90049-3566 (Note: Located adjacent to the VA Hospital, north of Wilshire Boulevard). Who: Korean War Veterans and family members; Colonel David J. Clark, Executive Director, U.S. Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee; Assistant Attaché, Consulate General of the People’s Republic of South Korea; Jean Davis, U.S. Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee; Minoru Tonai, President, Japanese-American Korean War Veterans; David Lopez, Commander, Korean War Veterans Chapter 56; Louis Koff, Director, Veterans Home of California—West Los Angeles Background: The U.S. Department of Defense is partnering with various agencies to sponsor ceremonies around the Country to honor Korean War Veterans and to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Korean War.
