Teddy Davis - CD4

ARCHIVE

Attorney / Educator Teddy Davis is running for City Council because he wants LA to work for every family in every neighborhood. Between now and 2015, Davis is committed to walking every corner of the district talking with voters about how “we can create jobs, reduce traffic, and keep neighborhoods clean and safe.”

Davis is currently a fellow at USC’s Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics where he prepares students for careers in public service. He brings to the race 15 years of experience connecting citizens with their government.

An Emmy Award-winning former journalist, Davis covered national politics for ABC News and served in the administrations of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, California Gov. Gray Davis, and Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley.

As press secretary to Mayor Villaraigosa, Davis worked closely with the Mayor and the City’s business team on LA’s “We’re Not Waiting for Washington” Jobs Plan. The plan lowered taxes on new businesses, cut red tape, and gave local businesses a leg up on City contracts. The plan also made major investments in LA’s infrastructure including the port, airport, and mass transit system.

Davis was born in Los Feliz to a mother from Mexico and a father from Texas. He lives in Los Feliz with his wife.
