Nearing the halfway point, the Recall Jack Weiss Committee says it’s close to half the signatures it will need to recall the LA Westside Councilman.
At mid-August, two months into the signature-collecting process, the
group has received 10,000 signatures. To launch the recall, they need
23,000 signatures by October 19.
Committee spokeswoman Monique Kagan says that signature gathering rates
were high during the first thirty days, the fell off during the peak of
summer. “Now,” she says, “they are on the rise again as people return
to the city.”
According to Marcia Selz, “We’re all making history here.” Selz is the founder of the Coalition of Homeowner Associations-Fifth District. “We’re forcing the city,” she says, “to change the shameful way it does business and to start listening to what the residents of Los Angeles have to say.” (Info-- Committee to recall Jack Weiss: www.recalljackweiss.com ) _
